What is your story?
I’m a writer, a consultant, a traveler, a fun things organizer, a dreamer, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a lover of life (okay that was cheesy, but kind of true!) – I love people and enjoy getting out and doing things. I moved to Seattle almost exactly 3 years ago from Los Angeles after marrying a Microsoftie. I keep pretty busy with my PR/communications business, exploring what the city has to offer, traveling a bit for fun and to see family and friends, and enjoying time with my people.
Why did you choose Sassy Fit?
I was at my all-time high weight and was looking for something to get me back on track with working out after a long break of eating, drinking, having fun and…not exercising. I thought the Celebrity Boot camp could be a great way to jump start my exercise routine and I loved the convenience of the trainer coming to our home.
What program did you do?
The Private Celebrity Boot Camp — 12 consecutive days of intense booty-kicking!
What was your overall experience?
On some level we all know what we could or should be doing to live a fit and healthy lifestyle, but sometimes you just need a nudge, or a push in the right direction. Sassy Fit got me going and kept me accountable.
I’ll be honest though, the first day of Celebrity Boot camp was a big wake-up call for me. It was a shock to see my actual measurements (even though I knew I had gained weight), plus I couldn’t believe how hard it was to do jumping jacks for 3 minutes, a minute of push-ups and basically everything we did that morning.
Fast forward to 12 sessions later, I am definitely feeling good and can see that I’ve made progress in how I feel during my workouts and of course loving that I’ve lost some inches/weight. I’ve become a lot more aware of what I’m eating by monitoring caloric intake. I still have a ways to my goal, but I’m so motivated!
What is one fit tip you have learned from this experience?
Mixing cardio with strength in one workout is effective. Prior to Sassy Fit, I’d often do one or the other.
