Lululemon, how I heart thee…..
I’m a pretty lucky gal seeing as I get to wear comfortable AND fashionable clothing to work every day. But let’s be honest, it wasn’t too long ago when active wear was sans the fashionable characteristic. My chief complaint in the past was that athletic tops were never tailored long enough, so my midriff always peaked out, or that the pants were never flattering and always too saggy. Most of you know exactly what I’m talking about!
IF by your own misfortune you’ve somehow missed out on the experience of how wonderful Lululemon really is, GO NOW! Lululemon has hit the nail on the head in so many different ways when it comes to the design of their lines.
Here’s a perfect example of what sets their designs apart from the rest. Lulu is very supportive of their local fitness instructors and provides a generous discount on their products to allow the opportunity to try out more products. They also have a research and development department with an instructor product-testing program where you purchase a product relevant to your sport that is new to stores. They then have you try out the product for a few weeks and provide feedback on what you loved about it and what you think it could use to push it to perfection.
Exhibit A:
My most recent product-testing item is this genius rain jacket. It’s waterproof but lightweight, and is extra long in the sleeves and waist, which is exactly what my long noodly body needs! There are small puckered pleats hidden throughout the design for added touches and the collar even has a second inner layer to keep the rain and wind out. But my favorite feature, which you see on a lot of their designs, is the thumb holes on the sleeves with the extra flap to pull over your fingers as make-shift gloves for those extra cold runs. Yes, I am in love with this jacket.
If you’re in the market for a rain jacket to get you through some wet runs this winter in Seattle, look no further, this is definitely a strong contender and promises not to fail! And if we’re still being honest, it does get me feeling fashionably sassy as I run out the door. J
